Now my friends call me turbo man.

My 03 F-350 King Ranch 6.0 is on it's 5 turbo in just a little over a year. Ford finally replaced the oil cooler line to the turbo on the last round. The third turbo took out the intercooler also. I am out of Ford's 5 year warranty with only 68K on the truck. I drive it like it is going to break, in other words, very gently. The parts warranty has taken care of it so far. (thankfully) Hearing about EGR Valve, headgaskets, headbolts, mercy, just waiting for the other shoe to drop! I just had a 4" exhaust put on and gauges (Boost & Pyrometer) so that I could see when I am about to blow another hose off the turbo or intercooler which has happen 3 of the last 4 times I drove through the Ozarks, pulling a 12,000 pound 5th wheel camper. Cannot afford to trade, just want to make a permanent fix! Am looking at ATS turbo systems with EGR bypass kit. What do you all think?

anything not stock changes the emission standards. ( pipe, intake, air filter, delete anything on exhaust, uppipe, egr ) ford is craking down on warranty, because of the turner related problems, which changes computer for power and emissions. the tech will eat the repairs, if a rep from ford looks at the truck and stop work. also tag your vin.

if anything is changed before cat, ford can say no !!!!!!

get your information strait before you make rediculous statements...

you make it sound so cut and dry....

First of all.....Ford is cracking down on DEALERS because of INCOMPETENT techs.....

Second of all..... REAL techs fix problems...they dont look for easy ways out by trying to blame things on mods...

go to a GOOD dealer and you wont have a problem...

Or you could have a select few at the local dealer work on your truck.

ok hear it is again !!!!!! for those who forget to read manual about warranty for 6.0L

tampering with emissions systems or other parts that affect these systems ( not limited to exhaust and intake systems ) performance-enhancing powertain componets and performance "chips" ( can void the warranty !!!!!! )

Why ? because it's against the law. this is why ca. emission catalytic sticker under the hood in plain sight and on value cover spec. this is a EPA deal started with CA and is the standard in others.

Ford Motor Co. may deny warranty coverage to abuse, neglect, imporper maintanance, or unapproved modifcations

mschn99 : so as a ford tech, tell me what part you don't understand. are you telling me that of turbo back exhaust, turner, air intake, egr delete by turner, block off exhaust up pipe, doesn't change emissions and fall under unapproved modifcations?

i don't care if someone mod's there truck. but when it breaks, man up and be honest, and pay what you broke. each case for warranty has to be looked at. my buddy a ford tech 20 yrs. the stories of owner fraud is driving cost up. no wonder Ford is cracking down.

ya truck had a new motor dropped in it by ford and i drove it for a little while and now my egr cooler cracked so it's been in the shop since monday morning. hope to get it back by thursday. to be honest, i'm extremely disappointed with the 6.0 motor. i modded and drove my 7.3L hard all the time and it only dropped a tranny with no motor issues. so i may actually sell this 6.0 and buy another 7.3L .
