code on attitude moniter

I had a Po402 code on my monitor today, I noticed a cough on
hard accelleration on the way home from work. It said something
about Eccessive EGR flow detected. Should I clean my EGR valve
or what ?

Mine was running crappy and I cleaned the EGR vale last night and it seemed to help alot. I didn't have any way to read for codes so i just took a chance and did it. Not easy to get that sucker out cause she's in thar tight but pull hard enough with some huge water pump plyers and it will come out. Clean er up with some Berrymans spray and it may help alot. 10 minute job.
