Popping noise under load

I need some help here - When I tow my trailer (6000 lbs) sometimes, not all of the time, I get a really loud popping sound coming from the engine. It looses power rapidly, and I must decelerate quickly. This sounds like turbo flutter, only much louder - Has anyone experienced this, or heard of this?
Any assistance would help.

2003 F250 super duty

Thanks

you are probably over boosting from a stuck turbo or something along those lines.

Are you still running an EGR setup? If so the valve could also be weakening internally and opening too far under high boost situations.
