P1100 maf error

Today my buddy's truck started running horrible, he checked the codes and found a injector 8 error and a maf error. His symptoms from my understanding is that the egts dropped to 300 degrees and his maf was reading 0. I'm thinking its a faulty maf sensor. Anyone bump into this?

P1100: Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1100 indicates the MAF sensor signal went below 0.39 volt or above 3.90 volts sometime during the last 40 warm-up cycles. The most common cause is oil from your oiled filter coating the inside of your MAF meter.

It's my truck and it has no MAF sensor. I have a 6 wire plug for one but no spot for it in the plastic tube from the air filter to the turbo. I do have a two wire sensor there, I guess it's a IAT sensor not sure. I was told it would be a good idea to change the fuel filters and I am headed to O'Reilly's now to get those. It wont run over 40 MPH and is knocking real bad. I took it back to the stock tune and it's better but not drivable. I have a P0266 code #2 cylinder contrition, P1000 and a P1102. I don't know why it's looking for a MAF as it's never had one. I had to borrow the bosses truck to get back to my hotel room to let my dog out and to get parts. I'm 500 miles from home and 100 miles from Houston where my next job starts Monday. Any ideas or help would be very much appreciated. I also have been running with either a cracked head or bad head gasket. I don't know if something just gave out or what. Thank you, Chuck

Have you checked your ficm voltage? also if you just changed filters your truck might need to be driven for a while to let your new filter do its job for a few days. Also I would run a lubricity addative maybe everyonce in a while. I use the RBP stuff its $25 but 1.0 oz is good for 32 gal tank so I just use .5 ounce every tank or every other tank and my truck seemed to idel smoother after maybe 3 tanks.

I've been putting a little 2 stroke oil in with each fill up. I was way out in the sticks when this started happened, will try to find Rex-x in Houston. My Edge cts says 50 volts. I was told to have my batteries load tested and did that today. The driver side batt was weak so I put an Optima in there. No change. I went to several places today trying to find the fitting that screws into the fuel bowl and no luck. I will ask some of the guys that live here tomorrow where to find such fittings. She's still running rough and that's after 200 miles since filter change. Still getting P0266 and I got a P0300 I think, a misfire code this afternoon. Probably gonna have to rent something to get to work in. Thank you for your help. Chuck
