changing the rail mount fuel filter... having issues

Changing the rail mount fuel filter this afternoon... removed the drain plug and after about 2 gallons of diesel came out (literally) i put the plug back in.. I recently upgraded from the factory plug to the newer style and only had a little diesel come out. Is there a check valve or something that is stuck? I dont think i should have this much fuel pouring out of the drain?????

it seems to happen sometimes

try and open the fuel cap and park nose high

also some let the fuel level get a little low before changing it

don't feel bad it's not written anywhere that you should do what I posted
and a slight fuel bath is normal

most guys do the upper and open the top and leave it sit open that relieves any tank pressure even though the vent should have done that IMHO

then down to the rail mounted filter
so if your just doing the lower u don't have that luxury
