HPOP Repair

I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I bought a 05 Excursion 6.0L 4x4 in August and drove it from California to my new home in Georgia hauling a car with no problems. This is the first diesel I have ever owned. This Friday the engine shutdown while driving and I coasted in to a parking lot. It took a couple of tries to get it to start back up. I drove it for a couple of hours after that with no problems. I shut it down for a couple of hours. Later that afternoon I started it again and it had a CEL and had no power. I took it to the Ford dealership and they said I had a High Pressure oil leak. They are replacing the HPOP.

My question is will they replace the STC fitting, dummy plug, and standpipes while they are in there? I have read on here that these things can cause problems down the road if they are not addressed. I asked the service guy but he acted like he didn't have a clue what I was talking about. He said it comes as a kit and they replace everything in the kit. What does that mean?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

It means that the STC fitting failed and they are replacing the whole pump. The fitting kit is about $60, while the pump runs about $600 after the core trade.

The only real way to know is keep asking the dealer until you get an answer. I would like to assume they would do "the right thing," but dealers are notorious for doing the minimums when it comes to warranty work.
