6.0 wont start

Truck will turn over and over them hit and die. One code P0863. Any ideas? 45-50 degrees outside

Do you mean P0683? Most likely a bad GPCM

Check FICM voltage. Should be 48V while cranking.

There is an inspection cover on the top of the FICM. Remove it and check the pin closest to the drivers side of the truck should be 48V.

P0863 is a transmission code, thats why it didnt make sense.

The glow plug module is not why the truck is not starting.

Check FICM voltage:

I know how to check the ficm. Assume it is working how do i check the gpcm?

Ok. It warmed way up and i had someone try to start the truck. Fired right up....so is that for sure the gpcm?
