Is it time to bulletproof?

I have a 05 6.0.. I'm a little confused about... I have noticed either white smoke or steam out the exhaust. It only does it every once in a while.... I have a monitor on my truck and have never seen over 8 difference in my temps so I'm not sure if my cooler plugged and I just didn't see any signs or what.... I've only ever seen my truck puke coolant once and it was being worked pretty hard when it done it.... temps always looked fine... I have a xdp coolant filter installed too... Any advice on where to look from here?

I figured I'd wait til I seen signs of plugging before bullet proofing my truck, it may be time.

Your EGR cooler may be ruptured. Pull the EGR valve and see if there is coolant laying in the intake manifold.

i was out of town when this happened, so i took it to a ford place that bpd listed on their website and it turns out the head bolts were allowing my heads to lift, they are putting studs and new gaskets and a bpd egr cooler. couldnt afford the bpd oil cooler so im going back with a oem one.

its alot of cash but im hoping this will fix it for a while anyhow!
