Is it an early 04? or a later 04?
Also check your oil filter canister for drain back.
May not be the problem but its something easy to start with.

Does it take longer to crank hot or cold, or both?
Do you have any sort of monitor on the truck?

16oz of archoil in the oil made a big differences in how quickly my truck starts cold.

On an early 04 you have the older style oil pump which also have a rounded pipe that is also know to rub through sometimes.
But im with 04cr450, If you have that capability to check all those you should try that.
If you don't it would be worth it to find someone that can.

Could possibly be a glow plug issue.
Or a fuel supply issue.

Umm. I still haven't done my blue spring update yet either. Its getting fuel filters tomorrow to since the weather is warming up I do them right before winter and after winter. I'm late this year but I'll knock those couple of things out and see how turn out after that.
