how did you fix your knocking issue?

i have a knocking noise at idle, its not crazy loud but its noticeable at least to me, no loss of power and truck is running great, i have used the search and found many others that have had this problem but nobody ever post what they did to fix this issue (wrist pin, injector, main bearings, valves) are all ideas i have, so if you have had this problem please let me know what it was, no codes, passed buzz test, passed contribution rest

engine knock or injector miss?

Depending on the tune you use, you will see a big difference in knock. The more advanced the SOI, the louder the knock. Typically the colder the temp at start, the louder it will be. Partially due to most tunes advancing the SOI until close to operating temp.

Now if nothing has changed, you might want a second opinion with a long in the tooth diesel operator. Usually a problem will be heard as a metallic tick.

I've seen injecors that work properly but seem to rattle at idle. is offline
