It could be a few things......

If its an early 04 its almost certainly a HPOP....

If its a late 04 it could be the

HPOP
Injector D ring
there is a plug in the front of the oil rail where the stand pipe would be if it had one on the fornt too...the lower o ring tends to tear...

none of the 04's have the same setup as the 05 and newer ones......they dont have the same STC fitting...

well we allredy changed HPOP it was 420 dollars but with not a good result no it dont take 3 hours to crank it takes about 45 minutes, my buddy he told me that when the oil gets past 150F it just donsent want to crank beause th eoil is to light or thin he uses his laptop and tells me the pressure that we are geting is about 250 when is hot and we need about 500 to 600,he change, the HPOP,an injector #7 he said that it was really leaking bad, and couple of tubes that i dont know what they are and some o-ring...im still looking waht to do... please

You need to close the IPR valve and put shop air into the system......

you need a special fitting to do this....

then you listen for the air leak to find the bad o ring...

none of the 04's have the same setup as the 05 and newer ones......they dont have the same STC fitting...
it was built in 03/2004 and we already change th pump last week, when he changed some o-ring went from 3 hours+ to about 1hour to crank so he said to change the pump and that will fix it but it didnt it the same time to crank maybe 45 minute any other thing i can look at????

read my last post in this thread above this one.....the only way to properly check it is with shop air in the system with the IPR closed... This is not a truck that a backyard mechanic can easily work on....not trying to offend you but they are very complicated...

o no my friend works for ford dealer and all he does is work on diesels but his been helping me and he can only do it saturdays at the dealer so he wont get in trouble with his boss but ill tell his to try thi with the air,thank u

not trying to be a prick....but u might look beyond your friend....

The air pressure trick is actually a ford procedure....and if he hasnt already brought that up....im guessing he doesnt work on too many diesels which with a 6.0 would make me a little leary....I just dont want to see you waste time or $$$

i know im already 2000 dollars and the truck wont run when is hot i told him today what you told me and he said he was just about to suggest doing that.. makes me think?
