Weird Noise

Ok.....05 F-250 6.0 4x4 90K miles

Pulling the ole Jeep last night and when pulling a steady grade at about 1800-2000 RPM, Boost about 30, I hear something that sounds like a quick either release of air or intake of air from the driver side....it's almost like a miss. I can throdle through it and it only appears to happen when the above is taking place.
Boost will drop a to about 28 and rpms will drop to about 1800, but will pick up again, like I said....almost like a miss.

Any ideas?

Yes and no....the sound was a similar tone, just not near as loud or near as often. I noticed it way before my wife did, only because once it made the sound the truck almost seemed to miss then pick back up. When it would make the noise, the boost and rpms would drop momentairly then pick back up to where they were. Almost like a miss with a realease or intake of air.

I changed the fuel filters, I had gone 28K on those (way to long) I am hoping that will help. The truck hasn't done it again but then again I haven't towed anything since.

Thanks

When I tow up really long grades my truck makes a bunch of noises also. Like it's blowing off a bunch of air. Startled me a few times with some loud pops. I don't tow much so I figured I was working it hard.
