6.0 rattle noise ??

I have a 2006 6.0 with about 60000 mi on it. Started to notice a rattle like noise at low speeds.
When you let off the gas a rattle noise is heard and when you start to accelarate it rattles then goes away. And only when hot but not all the time.
Was told might be the turbo was dirty, remove turbo and cleaned it but it wasn't bad at all, end play in shaft felt tight, checked vertical movement there was some but manuel says that was okay as long as ther was no contact while spinning it.
Could this be the valve on he turbo or Injector going bad?
Anyone run into this noise?

You sure the exhaust is not rubbing anywhere.

I removed the the down pipe, thinking that it was rubbing, checked and tighten the rest of the exhaust.
The noise almost sounds like a duck quacking, doesn't do it at idle or when reving in the drive way.

could be a charge air leak. Check intake tubes for cracks and hot side rubber hoses for wear and clamps for tightness and overall condition. Could also be the intercooler cracked or damaged.
What you are describing sounds air related, so focus there. Since it only happens when up to operating temps it could be an exhaust leak, which would take a little digging to find, so start with intake side first.

this is what I'm talking about. and it goes away as you coast when the PCM shuts the injectors off.

kind of sounds like it's coming from the egr but it's really hard to tell. so I unplugged it and it still made the same noise.

check all the cylinder ports where the exhaust manifold mates to the heads. its got a little whistle to it like an air leak.

yea the 2nd cylinder from the back has a slight leak. but that doesn't explain the noise from up front
