Smile OK now I'm just getting angry. Running like crap again. All fixed now thanks to Marc!

Ok so I get my truck out of the shop Wednesday, new head gaskets, studs, egr cooler, re-flash, the whole works... it ran great til last night... Thursday.

At idle it lopes and will not accelerate when pressing the accelerator, at first nothing... then it chokes and coughs and blows out a ton of smoke and will eventually start to accelerate if I just mash it to the floor and leave it there. It runs ok once at speed but unfortunatley I have a few stop lights around town that require me to stop. Sometimes she'll go and sometimes she won't. It has done it 4 times today.

tried calling the shop 3 times today but never got through to get it back down there. Guess I'll have to wait til Monday now... another weekend without my truck

I am beginning to get really frustrated with this flippin truck...

Sounds like turbo veins or EGR.

Yeah I would agree with the turbo problem. There is nothing blocking the intake tube is there? Dumber things have happened. Take the torque tube off and see if you can spin the turbo, and make sure it turns freely.

I had a similar problem. The first time it was at the shop they thought it was and was throwing codes as the EGR valve. The fixed that. Got it back, drove it for one day and then again lose of power and runs like poop and tons of white smoke. Take it back, and it was the EGR cooler. They fixed the cooler but I needed back before he could fully road test so he told me to "get on it" and it would clear all of the left over coolant and water out of the system. It took about two days(one afternoon and one morning) to get all of the coolant and water out. When they did my EGR I had them pull the turbo and inspect. Do you know if they checked yours?

They replaced teh EGR Cooler and took the turbo apart and cleaned it.

I just hope I can get it worked out soon. I have a 1400 mile road trip coming up and am considering taking my old 91 F-150 instead. It seems to be more reliable...

Kind of sounds like the VGT sensor is unplugged.

I think there is only 1 plug with 2 wires on the turbo, hope that helps. Let me try to find a pic.
