Upper Radiator hose clamp failure.....

Just changed the thermostat on my 2003 Excursion put the stock hose clamp back on the same way it came off. Started the rig up and its pouring coolant from somewhere. Grabbed the upper radiator hose and gave it a squeeze and it coming out from under the clamp at the thermostat. Is this typical for a 2003 with 95k miles? Just pissed i gotta take the filter back aout to get a worm drive clamp on there now.

I've never had any luck reusing the spring style clamps.

I don't think you have an unusual problem, just an aggrivating one.
