03 no boost with map sensor plugged in.

Had one of our trucks come in for a power issue. I found water in the fuel which was do to a leaking tank, replaced tank, clean lines and replaced filters. Now the truck runs good at idle but has no power when trying to drive. If i leave the map sensor plugged in it will boost about 1-2 psi, If i unplug the map it seems to have great psi, I tapped in a boost guage in the map hose and have about 20 psi when driving with the map plugged in, I installed a new map and no change. When i have no boost the truck smokes white raw fuel. I have 3 codes that are coming up, a p0237 p0046 p132b. I also tried a maf sensor and vgt soliniod from a good running truck with no change. any help would be great

Check your back pressure sensor and tube, also when you clear codes on an 2003 the turbo has to go through a re-learn process.

We just dealt with the same issue on an 03 that turned out to be high pressure oil leak at the injectors, typically this is a running rough condition, truck ran smooth just made no boost/power. This can be a difficult diagnostic on a 2003, ideally you want a shop like us that has IDS diagnostic, you will want to check your hpos actual and desired pressures and go from there.

Where are you located?
