It doesn't do it all the time, and it will only happen when its in 6th gear. even if its wound out in 5th, and then shifted in to 6th. The EGT's still climb but the boost gauge is @ only like 5psi. And no turbo noise. Also sometimes it will show a overboost in other gears (mostly 4th). The boost gauge will go up to 30 psi. before I get nervous and back off the pedel.

Sounds like the vein actuator could be sticking. What is the max psi you see when the turbo is working right?

About 30psi

does it make some weird sound when you get off the pedal, or when your going about 10mph does it make some weird noises? I am hearing some weird noises coming from my turbo but its still boosting so IDK what it is?! BTW I see max boost so far I hit 36psi. But that wasnt on my looney that was on my street file.

I have heard of egr valves sticking, or closing too slow. I have seen alot of turbos replaced due to a bad egr valve, on both GM, and ford.

most lickly a dirty turbo. Take it off and clean the veins. Its verry comon for the 6.0 turbos to go bad. or need to be cleaned.

![]() Last night I unplugged the EGR, today it seem to have more take off; from a dead stop but it still doens't want to work in OD. My Ford buddy says that without a engine code He might not be able to replace it. But he will try (wink wink)

the egr valve and the turbo were changed on my Excursion abt 3 weeks ago-I have an '05 with abt 18,500 miles on it. (this is the 2nd turbo change). can someone explain(in english) if/how the egr and turbo work together? I know many cars have an egr valve and and you don't ahve to have a turbo to have the egr. I have asked my husnand to explain and he tells me to go read a f'ing book. sorry-no one writes a book for Holly to learn. to my limited knowledge, the egr and the turbo could/work together(I'm sure there's a better word) bc of what the egr and turbo do. sorry to ask a dumb question! hope it makes sense.
