Question 6.0 engine dies out

Recently my 6L F250 dies running down the road. Sometimes it will start right back up and sometimes i have to wait for a few minutes. Getting a P2285 code. Have had the engine light on for a while with this code. It started right after i had the connector replaced on the ICP sensor. Through my research it seams it may be a bad Cam possition sensor or the ICP may be going bad. (Note: I did not replace the sensor, just the melted trough plug going into it.) Thinking about replacing one or both of these may solve the problem, but I'm looking for some pro's to point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help you can give me...

Nice to see someone close by. Usually find me somewhere between Mississipi and west Texas.( Did a California run a few weeks back) I do about 120K a year miles with this hotshot thing, but I'll be around. Catch you on the other side.

Might have found solution... Plugged it in today and found the EGR was fouled. Pulled it and cleaned it. Cheap fix for now but it might still need to be replaced. Also got 3 codes for the ICP. I'm going to leave the ICP alone for now, It's a pain to replace and the truck is still running. I'll probobly do the ICP when the weather straitens back out down here.

If your ICP is bad, you may be replacing the wire harness again as well...if its leaking oil. So my suggestion would be to not wait on replacing it and see if its leaking oil. that wire harness was quite expensive from what i remember.

Just replaced the harness 6 months ago. Just going to wait untill my yard is not knee deep in mud. Had to put 40 Cubic yards of crushed concrete in just to get to my shop.

isn't there an egr delete mod that increases power and fuel economy for the 6.0?

Yes but for now I'm keeping mine intact. I have to pass D.O.T. inspections regularly. I run Hotshot and while not every state enforces this I am trying to stay legal for the long runs.(California, Washington, etc...)
