P0299 With Shaking

Anyone else experience truck shaking sometimes ? Mine does it when I roll the throttle on going up a hill but if I hammer on it nothing. I had the truck scanned and only other thing that came up was #4 and #8 glow plugs are bad. Injectors checked out fine which I thought was the problem

Is it a shake or a shudder. Check your carrier bearing

it's probably still an injector. You need someone with an IDS that can run a power balance test while the truck does it.

It might be shuttering, sometimes pretty bad and gives a pretty good puff of blue smoke. What's IDS ? I took it to a diesel shop and they ran every test on the Ford computer program. I took it there cause I thought it was a injector but they said nope. Low boost. Going to put the driveshaft back in my 97 and park the 04. 97 sounds better with a straight exhaust anyway

They showed me injectors on Ford program and they were with in parameters. The tech told me "if you had a bad injector one would be way outta whack. I don't have the coin to replace turbo then find out it's an injector

Exactly. My thought is if injector would skip at idle or high idle when warming up. Could be wrong. Also doesn't shudder/miss all the time. I hauled a 16 ft enclosed trailer loaded with construction debris in tow haul and never shuddered/missed.

Weel some good news. On Thursday I changed oil/filter, both fuel filters and air filter. While messing with stock PIA air filter I found clamp on the tube that goes from air filter to turbo loose. Tightened it up and seemed to get rid of my shutter/miss. I'm guessing that could throw the P0229 code
