6.0 high idle mod

where can i get a high idle mod for a 2007 6.0???? anyone have any contacts????

Your truck already has it. It is built into the computer on 05 and up...possible even older ones.

Ford calls it Battery Charge Protection..it is a purpl with a light green tracer that should be just below your fuse box below your steering column.

All you need to do is send 12 volts to that wire through a switch to this wire, enage the Park Brake, have the truck in nuetral or Park if auto and it will bump to 1200 RPMs, and up the RPMs if the voltage drops.

This is the link for the PTO option, but if you read through it explains the Battery Charge Protection/High Idle.

EDIT: Sorry, had to change link, on the chart a little over half way down shows the info.
Oh, I used my Upfitter Switch #1 for mine, if you have the Upfitters.

do you only activate when sitting still?? or do you turn it on and it automatically adjusts???

It will only work with the vehicle in neutral or park and the parking brake has to be set.

now with that out of the way....i have read about egr by-pass .... is anyone familiar with this???? is it necessary or can it simply be unplugged??? and when you return to dealer does it need to be plugged back in???

If I have read correctly, with the 05s and up you need to do an EGR delete/block. And then have a tuner "bypass" the EGR so it won't throw a CEL. I think this is what needs to be done with our year rigs. Run a search using our search link and guarantee you'll come up with plenty of info.
