strange sounds

tonight while dropping my sister over at a friends house a wierd noise started from my truck. I've heard it before but usually it goes away. anyway it seems like after i let out of the throttle I get like 3 psshh sounds coming from my motor. It wouldnt happen all the time but just show up out of nowhere. I was wondeing if it could be something like exhaust/turbo pressure or something. Last time this happened it was cold out and went away wen it warmed up but this time the truck was warmed up. thanks for any help

Hmmmm.... usually that's your EBPV, exhaust back pressure valve. Helps with warm-ups. If it still makes that noise when your truck warms up it might be sticking. That's all i know about it though.

I do not think that the 6.0's have an EBPV, they use the turbocharger instead. maybe a turbo fart, or the "barking back through the air box" noise. my 2 cents.

That could be also, just your turbo surging.
