My 03 6.0 has 170000 miles on it and has started popping back or sputtering under power. Its fine once you get up to speed and cruise. Itll smoke when this happens. Ive been told to pour tranny fluid in the fuel and that will clean it up, pull the valve and clean it up and get a new one.
What do you guys think?

Dont

dont put tranny fluid in the fuel. Thats not good at all. The egr is just something you unfortunatly have to deal with on a 6.0. They can get gummed up and Ford does not reccomend cleaning them like they used to. To many come backs. We just put new ones in now. Also it can get gummed up from the egr cooler going out.

pull it out, weld it shut then block off the cooler and walla!

unplugging might help but you don't wanna rely on that to solve the problem.
