black diamond gaskets any good?

I am looking at a truck that just had a full head job done with the black diamond gaskets and ARPs. I know all about the black onyx gaskets and their utter failures. I haven't seen much about the diamond ones. Anyone have them and what are your experiences? Again the engine is put back together so OEM is not an option. Is it true that they are an updated onyx gasket made by the same mfg? Need some info as i might buy this truck.

Well here is my 2 cents for what it's worth, lol

They are a new design with better materials and engineering; maybe.............. they could very well be the answer,,,, and maybe they are but the proof is in the pudding and it's just coming out of the kitchen. LOL

Time will answer your question for sure and I hope for your sake as well as everyone with a 6.0 that it is the answer. Glad to see you tried them because the more trucks they get installed on the sooner the question will be answered.
Good Luck with them and keep us up to date and if you are tuned include that info as well..........

I am still looking at buying it, if i do i will surely keep everyone updated. I just hate being the guy who has to try new stuff when its as big as head gaskets.

Ahhhh well since you are yet to buy head gaskets I myself would ONLY use OEM there is little feedback on Black Diamond, let someone else try them for durability IMO

I am thinking the same route. I don't think it is worth the risk for what they want for the truck.

Unless the price is something you can't say no to, I'd be hesitant.

Here we go again...I am running them on my truck as we speak. They are night and day over the onyx's. Like stated before time will tell. I wouldn't let the black diamond gaskets stop me from buying a truck. If it were the onyx's I might, but these diamonds are very similar to the OE.

Here is some reading for you...

New Black Onyx Head Gaskets

Turned into a s-show for a while but there is some info about them in there somewhere. I am happy with the decision, and will surely use them again.
