6.0 Dead Need Advice
Heading home from work tonight i noticed the truck not having as much power, didnt think much of it at first but then it started loosing more and more power. After i had to floor it for it to turn into the driveway (bairly moving) I put in new fuel filters. Cranked up alright but seemed kinda quiet, decied to run it to the next town over to see if it just needed ran and it got worse and worse. When I turned around 5 miles later it was all it could do to go 45mph then the closer i got to home the slower it would go, then about 1/2 a mile from the house it just came to a stop and died. It was like a remote controll car thats batterys had ran out. I tried to crank it and it does nothing but spin over, it reminds me of when you pull the coil wire from a gas engine, just no fire. I called my wife and she towed me home with her Explorer (now i have to deal with bad A$$ explorer comments). Got it home and it just spins over. If this was a gas engine i would say its getting no spark. Oh yea, lots of smoke, couldnt tell what color cause it was dark out, i think it was greyish. The temp is normal and its got good fuel and good filters. Sorry this is so long, im just trying to get all the info out there. Thanks in advance for any advice. Scott M.

Update: This morning I was able to get it to crank after about 20 seconds of spinning it over, it did not run good, very sluggish and lots of black smoke an there was black soot on the ground. If you put it in gear and try to go it dosnt want to move. Any one have any suggestions? Please Help..

does sound lke possible fuel pressure issue ,maybe the pump, would probably help to get codes pulled

The 6.0's dont have injector pumps do they? Its just the pump mounted on the frame rail right?

Did you check the air filter and is the trubo creating any boost? From what i understand is that black smoke is from to much fuel but could it be from a block in the intake system? Not a tech but its an idea. good luck

I Have the Zoo Dad mod so i was able to stick my hand through the grill and feel the air going into the air filter. You cant hear the turbo spool up because the engin wont rev up very much. When it first started messing up last night i started listening to the turbo and it sounded normal. I guess i need to have it checked out, i was just hoping i could find out something with out having to pay a Tech.
