Oil Filter Leak? - Little help here! I'm LOST!

I have a small oil leak; dribbles a few drops every time you turn off the engine. I thought it was coming from the front of the block; but it appears now it may be coming from the top....

I'm new to my truck, only had it a couple of weeks; so work with me! I believe the oil filter is the tall black vertical cylinder on the top of the block?..... There is also another shorter black cylinder that is forward and left of the aformentioned.

It appears oil is leaking from the smaller of these black devices?... I say this becasue when I open the hood I can find oil on the inside of the hood directly above these two filters; there is also oil on the metal housing that the smaller cylinder screws into to.

Any ideas why this might be?

Thanks Friends,

Semper Fi

Ok, I think I've figured out that's the secondary fuel filter.

Do you think that the "Oil pressure test port" at the base of the oil filter could possibly be leaking or "spraying" oil vertically? I can't think of any other lubrication parts in this area, unless you can have the oil filter itself leak?

Thanks for any help.

It's possible the cap isn't screwed on correctly or someone was lazy and didn't change the oil filter o-ring. There is a new one that comes in every oil filter package and should be changed every time. It's also possible that the cap is cracked. You should be able to see an oil leak from that area with the motor running. Sometimes a bright light helps OR you can get oil dye and use a black light to find it.
