New Guy with a sick 6.0L

Kinda found this site by accident, and after reading some of the posts, figured this oughta be a good place to ask about my ill 6.0. engine light on all the time, and surges when you first start it for about 30-45 secs when cold, and I've noticed light smoke (never did that before, nor smelled like diesel till now) then smooths out and runs fine. No loss of power, stalling,l or surging after the initial startup. Scan gives me a code of P2285 injector control press sensor circuit low... Everything I'm reading is kinda pointing towards the EGR Valve... Any ideas

Hey and welcome. I hate to say join the club but I have a very sick '04 6 liter as well...

Either the EGR Cooler or a head gasket in my case. We'll see tomorrow hopefully what the shop says.

Good luck with yours. You'll get loads of good help here.

Your in the right place. The techs will want more info on your truck. It helps if it is your signature. Hopefully someone that can answer your question will be along soon.

Bone stock, 164,000 miles, new fuel injectors and turbo just before I got it, and according to Ford new head gaskets just before that.
