Advice!!! Need help please

Have a 2005 powerstroke with the 6.0 engine. Got 170,000 on it. Have not done anything at all other than fan clutch an altenator. Was wondering with the miles an original head gaskets, head bolts, an engine oil cooler should I go ahead an bullet proof this truck? An if so what all needs to be done?

Do u have anyway to monitor EOT/ECT? If u don't have any problems with it and don't plan on throwing more power at it than you are I wouldn't tear into anything just because. Definitely monitor and in your plan is to goto a remote oil cooler in future maybe start there. I'd leave head gaskets and studs out until you have a need to dive into it that deep. Gonna cost you same either way.

Truck is not showing any sign of problems. #1&2 injector have been miscellaneously acting up. I just didn't know if it was cheaper now than later. Ya know if a guy ran it until ya had to did that far if you would run into more problems had you just went ahead an spent the money.

It would be less of a hassle if you did it when you were ready for it before all the problems happened...... As opposed to it breaking down when your not expecting it. I did mine before it got any issues because i just didnt want to risk it....you no what i mean? if that helps at all

The way I look at spending money on my truck is how long would it take for the truck to pay me back...If I went out and bought a newish truck Im guessin my payments would be around $600 a month (Give or take). The total cost of a kick azz "bullet proofing" would/could be around what $6000....(give or take) so in 10 months after I do this work the truck is now making me money. Spend a little now ,save a lot later.
