2003 F250 6.0L has a shimmy at an idle
I have owned my truck since April of 2011. Never had any issues with it until I decided to take it to the local dealer to have routine maintenance done. I got in my truck to drive home and it had a shimmy once I hit an idle speed. Later I found out they had put the wrong anti freeze in my truck. This weekend, I did an oil change with 5w40 Rotella and a motorcraft filter, flushed the cooling system and filled it back up with gold antifreeze, changed out the fuel filters, and changed the Cam Position Sensor. Went to the auto parts store and they checked the system and came up with no codes. The truck starts up great whether it is cold or hot. No check engine light. Just this random shake. Any ideas?

Sounds like the ICP, do you have a scangauge ?
The Ford Gold is ok as long as you keep up the maintenance on it, a lot of people including myself went through the effort to get it out because of the major problems it can create. Again keep it fresh change every 2 years or 25,000 miles. Last edited by mhatlen; 03-04-2013 at 05:16 PM. |

I think I have sticky injectors. I just ordered some rev-x oil treatment and see if that helps. The shaking only happens in over drive. There are no codes at all and the FICM voltage was at 48. Hopefully this helps.

I don't get what your saying? So what you mean is you let off the gas pedal when you're at highway speed at you have a shake? right??
If that is the case I would lean towards a driveline issue (carrier brg included) Do you have a bit off a shake throttling away from stop signs? 5W/40 should have the same or better results as RevX not so sure about the injector thought?? |
