06 F-350 Oil Filter Issue

Hi, I'm posting this for a friend that has the same truck as me -- 06 F-350 4x4 Crew Long Bed 6.0 PS with 16,000 miles

He was hooked up to his 32ft. 5th wheel - (about 10K) and just starting up a slight grade when his engine stopped. He thought he had lost a turbo. He got it towed to the local Ford dealer and was told his oil filter exploded. The shop that did his oil change said they use a Havoline oil filter that is made by Purolator - Part # T-57 After Ford pulled out his bad filter and gave it back to him, it is not the T-57 filter and has two sets of #'s on it - F08S22-1 and 6944619 It says Made in USA - patent pending, but no other marks that tell who made it.

Here is what I'm trying to find out for him - Anyone know what make this oil filter is?

Also, the dealer does not want to fix it. They say it is not a Motorcraft filter and that voids the warranty. There appears to be plastic from the oil filter in the engine and they are wanting huge $$$$'s to tear it apart to see if it went pass the screen.

Has anyone else had anything like this happen to their 6.0 PS?
