No boost...at times.....
Weird deal with dads truck. Normal driving...leaving redlight, part/half throttle he has zero boost (Edge CS)....none...never. All the way to highway speeds. However if you go to WOT, for 3-5 seconds no boost....then all of a sudden it jumps to 18 lbs or so (not the 27-28 he normally sees) then slowly backs off.
Then the other day just riding down the road it all of a sudden starting getting boost like normal. For one ignition cycle (bout an hour drive). Parked it for about an hour. Started back up to drive home, and no boost under normal conditions since (couple days, bout 150 miles). Is this a classic issue of turbo vanes sticking? Or is the turbo just toast? Or could it be electrical due to the fact it all of a sudden had boost like normal? 6-8 lbs under normal acceleration, etc....Truck is an 05 with 140k. Thanks for any help |

Could be stuck vanes, or a worn unison ring in the turbo.

Unplugged the EBP sensor and TA-DA! We have boost. Guess the tube is clogged up tight......
