oil leak! It's not what you would expect...

I have a 2006 powerstroke that is leaking a good amount of oil coming from above the crank sensor. This would be on the left front of the engine behind the P/S pump and behind the front cover. I have no idea what it could be?? I'v searched and searched but no one else seems to be having this problem? Its coming from higher than the crank seal so I dont think its that.....Does the front have have any oil in it?

Check around the oil pedestal base and the fittings on it. It could be as simple as a cracked filter cover or a seal on the oil cooler cover. Of course, it could be something worse.

I would but a picture just doesnt help much.....how long will it take to reseal the oil filter housing? looks like the intake has to come off? I'm to the point its worth a shot or ill find whats leaking when i start tearing into it. Back to my original question, is there oil behind the front cover? Thanks
