Possible 6.0 low boost?

I have an 05 and I've noticed my boost only gets as high as 19-20 psi. Is this too low? My truck has 147k miles and I doubt the turbo has ever been cleaned. Should I go ahead and clean it? I've never cleaned a turbo before so, any parts I would have to buy and what exactly do I use to clean it? Thanks for any help, Cody.

Several things could cause low boost. A worn unison ring, bad vgt solenoid, leaking up-pipes, torn CAC boot, or a cracked intercooler, just to name a few. They are easy to clean though, gettin the sucker out is the PITA part.

I just figured it was the turbo, because an older gentleman owned it, and I doubt he got it on it enough to open the veins in the turbo. But if it is not the turbo, ill have the piece of mind knowin that the turbo is clean

Hello all. I also have a 05 f250. I installed a edge cts last August. I drive 80 down the interstate and my boost range is around 7 to 10. If I stomp on he pedal it will shoot up to 20 but then go back down. I have always thought that the higher the boost is bad. This is my 1st diesel and I am learning so bear with me

Btw. This is my 1st post on here! Woohoo. Lol

Possible 6.0 low boost?

Ok thanks, I checked out a video on YouTube from srmastertech I believe it was, I still don't exactly know what he is using to clean it though. The process does not seem hard though. Will I need any new o rings or are the ones on there reusable? I don't see any visible leaks on the turbo right now.

Possible 6.0 low boost?

I believe I've found a kit. It's a 3m kit part number 030050. This should do the trick I believe
