So now what did I do wrong

I replaced the FICM because truck would not run. New FICM truck started right up but had dead cyl #3. Replaced the #3 injector and now truck runs on 8 but you have to crank it until it shows pressure on the gauge before it will fire. Once running it seems to run fine although I have only driven it around the block. Appparently I created the problem because it started fine before replacing the injector. This might help, 2004 F350 6.0

You have air in the HPO system. You need to drive it for a while to bleed it out, and it will be fine.

OK I will get brave enough to drive the thing around for a while. I just want to get this thing running well enough to get rid of it. This particular series has been going on for two months. Every time I Fix one thing something else goes wrong, I order more parts and find more time to play mechanic. When I thought that I had now somehow created the starting problem I was on the verge of road testing the fire insurance. I can only hope that you are correct.

That is common when the hpo manifold is removed, gotta purge all the air out, sounds like you got it figured out.

No offense intended, I grew up in my fathers auto repair shop and spent the first 20 years of my full time employment repairing everything from motorcycles to the occasional class 8 truck. I found out two things about auto repair I am very good at it and I hate it, but I do know how talented you need to be to be good at it.
