Rear main seal install

Has anybody installed a rear main seal without the Ford tool? If so how did you do it and did it leak. I am finishing a cam install and down to putting the rear main in and the motor is ready to go back in. Thanks for any help.

good luck, the new rear main has a wear sleeve that must be pressed on the crank at the same time the seal is pressed into the rear cover.

I kinda figured I would need it. I guess I will hit up my neighbor, he is the parts manager at a Ford dealer, he got me the tool to align the cam and crank so hopefully he can get me this tool.

Did Ford ever get away from that plastic tool back to a real TOOL?
