IPR Valve Bad again??

A month ago i changed out my oil cooler, injectors (warrens 175/stock now), stc fitting, added ipr coolant filter with manifold, BPD FICM, AFE cold air. After all the work it took forever to get it to build ICP pressure but finally fired up. It had a funny idle to it and it turned to be a bad IPR valve. i got that replaced and it ran great...
Now this morning i went out to start it and it cranked longer than normal but fired up and ran fine (slow to build icp according to my cts) did some running around and got on it hard when i let out the truck died and wont restart.. no icp pressure according to the CTS monitor. What would cause it to just quit after a month of driving with no issues?? Could the IPR be bad again and if so what is causing the issue. The one i changed out had stuff all over the screen and it was pushed into the IPR valve.

Re: IPR Valve Bad again??

Sounds like a high pressure oil leak or bad icp. But I'm no pro. Disconnect the icp and see if it goes to a default pressure, it should start. If not I would pull the ipr valve off inspect the screen or do a high pressure leak check.

if something got on/into the ipr screen, it went through the pump. possibility that the pump is damaged. pull the ipr and check for any metal debris

Where were you measuring to get the 1000psi? If it was just coming from your Cts, it sounds like your pump took a dump. Your first IPR change was probably the warning shot. If you really do have good ICP then, if your IPR is damaged again, you need to figure out what is the culprit, metal or goo.

It all depends on how much dirt got down in the reservoir. Knock on wood i've never had one come back from a previous oil cooler replacement but i have seen more than a few IPR screens trashed (and even saw a new metal oil cooler screen with a window busted out and full of dirt) when other people did coolers.
