Rear main seal leak?
The shop had to install galley plugs in the rear of my motor. It now has a rear main seal leak. Took it to Ford and they said the wear ring is missing and that is what caused the leak. Is that something that they (the shop) would have had to remove to get to the galley plugs?

Ok, could removing the rear engine plate and re-installing it improperly cause an oil leak from the rear main seal?

The new style seal has a wear ring, and it needs a special tool to make sure it gets seated correctly or it will probably leak. Maybe they didn't change the seal.

find out if the shop changed the seal. if they did, the new seal should have come with the sleeve. if they installed it without the sleeve, then yes, it will leak like a sieve.
