new hoses on 07?
Took truck in to shop due to no heat. Was told both upper and lower hoses and the hose to heater all are cracked and leak. Is this normal on a 6 year old truck? Also need upper/lower ball joints in front end.
They also found oil around value covers. They cleaned off and want me to drive for a few weeks and begin back to have check. |

Re: new hoses on 07?
Cracked hoses don't explain the lack of heat. My 04 houses look fine. If your engine ever had fuel/oil leak into the coolant, that would degrade the hoses.
Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get. |

Don't have truck back yet. Is oil around valve covers a sign of headgasket failure. I know a previous owner had headgasket replace at 66,300 mi and used black onyx gaskets.

No, thats not a sign of head gasket failure. The valve covers don't leak often, are you sure it's not the rocker boxes?
