Where to start?
After my 03 f350 6.0 sits over night, it takes cranking it several times before it builds oil pressure to fire injectors. Starting "teardown" this weekend. Any ideas on where to start looking for problem. Thanks

Re: Where to start?
Oil drain valve in filter housing. 03 has the small oil rails so it could be one of the supply lines. Could also be a sticky IPR. What are your oil pressures low and high? Any codes at all? When it's running what's the IPR percentage?

Re: Where to start?
I would suggest a monitor to help diagnose the problem. Diagnosing the problem prior to tearing it down is the only way to do it properly. You can try the hpop test....DIAGNOSING A 6.0L HIGH PRESSURE PUMP!
And google hpop air test also, pressurizing through the icp port. Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get. |
