Same old problem

Well I took my truck in thinking it was leaking coolant, ended up being oil. Yes, I didn't take a look at the puddle my truck left it was -20degrees out and I REALLY didn't want to get out and freeze more than I already was. Anyway I ended up having to add coolant so I told them it was that. Ended up being the rear main and now they want me to document how much coolant I am loosing before they do anything about it. Question is should I refuse to document it and want them to pull the heads or have a different dealership take a look at it OR do what they want and document it?

take it to a different dealership! i had my cousin thats in diesel school take a look at my truck when it was leaking oil down the block and in the valley. he thought i was a turbo gasket or something like that and i took it to one of the young and smart tech's at our dealership and he looked at 2 mins and we found the problem. There are like 4 brass plugs on the heads and they are used to check pressure for the heads. (these plugs are on both heads) and there is a o-ring on those plugs and i took that plug off MY HAND!! it was that lose and i replaced that o-ring and cranked on that babie and made sure it was tight but night to tight! and that cured my problem!
