Smile Engine jumps to 1K rpms

All,

Just noticed my 06 PSD recently started to run the idle up to about 950-1000 rpms, every now and then at idle. If I tap the gas pedal it will return to normal idle.

I assume this is normal but can someone confirm this is or that it happens to them???

Perfectly normal. It happens on start up if the temp is 50*F or below. It's like the high idle warm up feature on a gasser.

I find that even when hot, If I leave it idle for a while it ramps up. Could it be its for EGR cleanliness.
