EGR cooler question

My truck goes in on tue. for egr cooler replacement. I've been reading a lot of posts that say the oil cooler might be the problem. Just wondering if the dealer will know to check this also, or if I should make a point to tell them. They are covering it under warrenty. Have 41k on the truck.

Some dealers will replace both at the same time as they should be, however, some will only do it in steps. They should be able to hook it to IDS and see how much temp difference there is between coolant and oil. 20* higher engine oil temp is NORMAL. Anything more and the EOC should be replaced.

My dealer only replaced the EGR cooler. Now it's back in the shop. Hopefully yours replaces both or takes the time to do the test. Good luck.
