So.. its like 10/12 degrees this morning in NJ.. i go to start my truck (didnt plug it in) and it starts!! but kinda "softly" atfirst if that makes any sense.. sounds like my stoker motor in the muscle car.. (after warm runs normal) and i get a few minues of whte smoke.. the high idle kicks on and my foot slipped when getting in the truck and i hit the go pedal.. no big deal right.. eh..a $hit ton of black smoke comes out the mbrp!.. im rolling coal in park?!? NO check engine lights all day of driving it- BUT i did notice that driving aroun 60.. i let off the gas to cruise.. i hear wehat sounds to be a tapping noise that decreases the amount to "taps or ticks" when speed is decreasing..
any idears to my issus??? |

Re: HELP!! HELP!!!NO CODES.. White Smoke. Black smoke?? wtf
Load test your batteries and perform the ficm check procedure. Do you have a monitor? Do you have a tuner? Do you have any exhaust manifold leaks, lots of soot?
Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get. |

I agree a monitor would be helpful... Is this the first time all of this has happened? It's cold (although that's relative, I can't wait till the temps get back up to 10*) and when it's cold things don't do what they normally do. White smoke at start-up is normal in the cold. If you stomp the gas at idle in the cold black smoke is normal too, although maybe not "a $hit ton". The ticking/tapping,
maybe normal maybe not. Did it do it all day? Did it get worse or better during the day?
