Exhaust Rattle
I have a minor exhaust rattle and want to see if anyone has any solutions. My FBD 4 in. is barely touching my tranny cross member when the engine is idling. I dont think loosening then retightening everything will fix it. I have thought about wrapping that part of the pipe with exhaust cloth wrap. Will it work? Any new ideas would be awesome....

Mine was rattling in the same spot. Loosen it a little and try moving it away and retighten it. The wrapping will eventually come off.

You might try installing some spacers behind the bolts that mount the hanger bracket near the crossmember. Mine wasn't touching, but it was a little close for comfort on my Banks Monster exhaust, so I put some spacers in, and there's 5/8" of clearance now.

Seems like a common problem. Lots of others have had this issue. My Magnaflow kit did that. It was barely touching a bolt on top of the crossmember that attaches it to the frame. We just bought a cheap exhaust hanger, welded one end to the pipe and I pushed it away from the bolt while welding the other end to the crossmember. The noise never came back.

Exact problem. Its touchin the bolt head on cross member. I'll try the the spacer idea first, then result to welding if need be

On my FBD exhaust I had an annoying rattle and it was just one of the washers, didnt know that little thing could make so much noise took washer off and perfection.

I used 3 larged hose clamps and made a "chain", and pulled it away from the bolt head. Been on over a year and no more rattle!!

Ours rattled too - is MBRP -- exhaust place said the DP is just a tad too long on all those and the best way to fix it was to section the pipe.. f-that...
Once Scott removed the tranny to replace the seal and put everything back together, it hasn't rattled much at all, but I bet just putting a few washers between the crossmember and frame would gain the extra clearance needed (or do the chain that Shane mentioned )
