High idle mod stopped working...yes its wired right.

Starting this thread for my an others who might have the same problem.

2004 6.0, edge tuner. That all eletrical wise done.

I hade the high idle and it worked perfectly untill we flushed my cooland and wired in my radio.

I've seen the high idle mode write up and yes its all wired correctly and connected.

Worked this morning and afternoon went to hit to get my temps up to get thermostat to pop and it didnt work

Took radio out and no wires are cut or pulled up(done 20-30 car sterios in my day)

Even if i touch both wires togeter nothing happens.

Parking break on and in park still doesn't work....parking break off and in park still doesn't work.

Im out of ideas guys any help...430 am gym times in winter time its nice to have high idle.

Thanks fellas

Did it happen directly after you installed the radio? Thats really strange, logically speaking one wire is hot when running, one is the pto switch and when the pcm sees a certain voltage, no brake pedal engaged, in park, parking brake switch engaged(in some year ranges) it should tell the engine to increase rpm up to 1200 rpms. My only suggestion is to measure voltage at the white /bl wire to make sure your getting 12v. do you h e a PID scanner? Thats really strange though... subscribed, let us kno how it ends up.

Havn't stuck a volt meter to it yet got so mad i was honestly sweating and its 30o here so walked away.

High idle mod stopped working...yes its wired right.

That pto wire is associated directly with the afternarket connections on the pcm... For narrow chassis, ambulance, tow truck setups, etc High idle mod stopped working...yes its wired right.-imageuploadedbyautoguide1358749484.620404.jpg

I couldnt find that specific 12 volt wire in the diagrams i have saved

i have a feeling you would hve to pull up a diagram for the instrument cluster or the fuse box to find these wires... Hopefully u will find the problem tomoro.

took of the 12v ingnition on wire(white/yellow) <--- could be a diff color to lazy to go look.

i then wired it to my 12v to my radio so we will in the morning if it works, trucks to loud =).... neighbors have kids.

So thats my "new" 12v source so we will see if thats not the case then honestly i don't know since it WAS wired 100% to the T in the write up floating around all of google.

the guy before me or guy before him hacked up so many wires down there its literally a "wtf" situation so who knows what up.

Well even if your radio is drawing enough current to lower the voltage on that wire it should only lower the high idle rpm.. The pcm will send different amount of voltage to that wire depending on oil temp.. Good luck

Wired from my radio to the computer it works beautifully.

Dont know why the wire from the obd II isnt supplying power but once its warmer out i'll figure that out.

Thanks guys

Could be very simple, check your cig lighter if it doesnt work then your obd2 and cig lighter fuse is blown
