Warranty question Ford Techs please

I have an 03 with 74,000 miles on my truck has been running ruff in when its cold 1st thing in the morning so I took it into ford today and they looked at it they informed me that the # 1 & 5 injectors were bad will replace under warranty also the egr valve is bad so they are going to replace that under warranty and they are going to replace the egr connector and reprogram it but that is not covered under warranty its going to cost me about $389 with the $100 deductable is this right why would they not cover those 2 things when he says that they have to be done when replacing the EGR valve????

the guy up there is my friend and have know him forever and he said that ford just will not pay for it they have complained he said but they just wont I don't understand

thats BS....both the connector and reflash ARE covered under the 5/100 warranty. Ive reprogramed TONS of trucks that way.

can you call him tommorrow and tell him that he said they have tryed and argued with ford and they will not pay for it I also PMed Scruffy about it and he said that they cover it under the 3/36 but not the 5/100

if the reprogram fixes a drivablility problem you can push it through. We have been doing it forever. The Connector i honestly dont know, i would need a basic part number....but since the engine harness is covered i cant imagine that pigtail isnt....

well the truck it back up and running $391 later but not to bad for 2 new injectors and a new EGR Valve, connector and the new reprogram

So they charged you $291 for a pigtail??? You got screwed. I'd be calling Ford Customer Care and filing a complaint. Everything else is covered under warranty including the flash. If they're telling you different you need to find another dealer. Post said "dealer" up so others will know not to go there. That sucks.
