Injectors or ICP?

Well the shuddering that I have been having is not the transmission. My mechanic thinks it something to do with the injectors. Hes not a diesel mechanic so hes not to sure. But I was also thinking the ICP sensor? The truck is an 06' with 63k miles, just wondering if this would be covered under the engine warranty? Could this also be why I am seeing only 11.6- 12.3 mpg, completely empty, babied throttle?

I've never seen or heard of an ICP sensor on a later model failing, only the 6.0's with the ICP under the turbo (03's and early 04's). The engine has warranty for 5yr/100K w/$100 ded. so take it in and get it diagnosed. If your mechanic has no diesel experience, especially no 6.0 experience, he doesn't need to be guessing. It gets real expensive realy quick on these motors.

Stang, when you say shuddering, what exactly are you experiencing? Is this at idle, while driving with no load, or under heavy load?

Just curious...and free bump for ya!

with 3.73's empty in town should be 14.5 and highway +17 depending on speed. in my truck, 55= +22, 60= 22, 65= 19, 75= 17. Thats un moded 100% with mobil 1 delvac 100% synthetic motor oil. Mentioned the oil cause immediately after switching over to the M1D Syn my mileage jumped up 1,2 mpg. Before the syn I never saw over 20mpg, hardly ever even 19. My results are based upon the same 450 mile stretch of highway and with the cruise control engaged.

Just changed to synthetic about two days ago. I can notice a slightly unnormal surge/shake at idle now, but mostly lower RPMS when cruising about 55 mph in overdrive. Im starting to think an injector maybe bad because this thing is becoming a dog off the line, only goes anywhere when the turbo spools up to about 15 psi...

Yeah, something is going on there. The new D isn't conmsistant so maybe you need to add a double dose of PS additive to your fuel. My neighbor was complaining about his 04 and I picked him up a jug at napa and within fifty miles on a double dose she was back to normal. Still that way and that was two months ago. Hid truck is used in his road building business and dosen't sit around.
