ford flash and stock pcm
hello all. i just took the truck in for warranty work and they replaced one bad injector and another egr and turbo work. all was well till i phoned and asked to get the sewest flash 06E17 as i have not had one done since early 2004. anyway, they said sure and went ahead and tried it and now the truck wont start. they asked me if for sure i didnt have a chip or programmer as this is what happens when its chipped and they try reflash. it has never been chipped or anything like that so next they said that they are going to have to put in a new pcm. any techs know anything like this? i also heard that this kind of stuff happened when the person working on it was not knowing what they were doing while flashing? is this true or......
thanks clarence |

I'm not sure if it's possible if the tech could screw it up that bad, but if he did that says a lot. However, I have heard of guys having to have their pcm's replaced before. Read about it once or twice. Once they get it installed, make them install the inductive heating flash.
