cold start smoke video

hey. is this amount of smoke normal, for a truck starting at 22 degrees? the blueish smoke at first? normal right?

Mine smokes more then that when its cold, but its not blueish white but all white. Usually clears up after 5-10 seconds.

I do not know if I would be too worried about that. It looks like it clears up pretty fast. I have had mine blow the white smoke like that on a cold morning start at about 40 degrees. I'll let one of the techs chime in on this one.

by the way this is not my truck. i was going to put a cold start vid up of mine starting, but i found one that starts just like mine.

Mine is way worse than that..WAY WORSE.. likes 5 mins of ALOT of white smoke... it only does it with the cold fix tune in it from djs... no idea why? Any one have any idea

White smoke:
Caused by unburned fuel passing through the engine. Some white smoke is normal on cold start-ups.
Excessive white smoke could be an indication of inoperative glow plugs, loose injectors, low compression from worn rings or bent connecting rods, or coolant leak into the cylinders--head gasket or injector well sleeves.

hmmm... none of that sounds good.... but how come does it only do it on the cold fix tune.... on regular tunes it only does a little smoke like on the video

If its from tuning then its just unburnt fuel. Not sure why the cold fix tune isn't working. If I go back to stock there is no white smoke on my truck at startup.

ya on stock there is only a puff when its cold.... regular tunes just a little more... then on cold fix it is unreal and idles rough till warm.... still havent gotten the inductive heat stratagy yet from ford... hope that helps a clear things up
