Off to a really bad start

Traded my perfectly running, never had a problem 1997 crew cab dually for a new 2006. Had a injector and rocker come off on the number 4 cylinder. Any one else have this problem with truck with 49 miles on it. I hope it was just a fluke and there are no future problems, Thanks JR.

Your engine was either manufactured on Monday Morning or Friday afternoon....
Keep track of problems early on and apply the lemon law if you have 5 major issues early on. They have to buy it back from you under this law if it qualifys as a lemon. I think 5 issues will qualify it.

I've only seen 3.

I've seen 3 rockers and pushrods destroyed on 6.0's and all were various mileage's.

I have seen it. When the injector failed it dumped exess fuel and why i dont understand how it doesnt hydrolock the motor, i have seen them bend pusrods, break rockers, and bend valves.....

the good news is it is not a very common thing and i wouldnt be worried, the injector was just a bad one....and unfortunately it didnt act up on the pre delivery inspection for the dealer...

6.0 Computer Reflash Dropped Fuel Econonmy 19 to 11

I had a 7.3 2001 and never had a bit of trouble with it. Heard how much better the 6.0 was and ordered a new 2004 6.0 crew cab Lariet 4x4 Pretty much loaded. I have had nothing but problems with mine. I purchased it at McRee Ford in Dickinson, Tx......"something that will never happen again" Any way the truck first had the water in fuel light come on repeatedly. It was in the shop atleast 5 times and today it is still not fixed. The leather seat on the driver side began to crack at 8000 miles in the upper back. Had a complete battle to get it fixed. I had a recall on the transmission, so they rebuilt it and at that time apparently there was a computer reflash recall. After the reflash my mileage dropped from 17 down to 11. Several of the 6.0 owners that I work with are having the same problem. McRee Ford blamed it on my fuel tank being contaminated and wanted $896 just to drop the tank and clean it. I took it to a local shop and they dropped it for $240. There was nothing in the tank. Now they are claiming it is in my alleged bad driving habits. I drove it like a Grandma for sa whole tank of diesel......no change. These are just a few of the problems I have had. Don't buy from Mcree!!! Once you make the purchase your warranty is worthless. Has anyone else out there had the computer reflash blues?

I have had a reflash and mileage and power increased a little. Had no issues like yours except the water in fuel light and it was the sensor in the filter housing underneath on the framerail.

Sorry to hear that. You are right about Mc Cree Ford, a co-worker bought an Excursion from them in 04' and had some issues, the dealership blamed everything on him.

BTW welcome to the forum, good to have another local

Every time

Every time I reprogram one it is going to get bad fuel mileage for awhile because it has to relearn. As for the dealership experience come visit us, we'll take care of you. We have made a habit of fixing other dealerships problems. Even the local Engineer sends us stuff.
