Who can recommend a repair facility on Cape Cod, MA?

I have a 2004 F250 and it is getting to the point where I don't trust it. I have changed all sorts of sensors, had the FICM rebuilt and it will just die from time to time (while driving), but starts right up. The truck also will surge from time to time. It has 166K on it and looks great-I hate to trade it in since I love it when it is running (and it is paid for!). Should I bring this to my local dealer and hope for the best or should I see out a local mechanic. I have not done an EGR delete or anything like that. I do have a Edge Evolution plugged in but I just use it for the gauges (stock tune). The truck is not throwing any codes.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated!

Jeff

I had the same thing happen to me a couple of years ago. I changed out the injector wiring harness and I have had no issues since. Can you get it to do it by wiggling any of the electrical harness's while idling? Specifically check the injector harness. Hope this helps.

Heathrm,

I couldn't make the problem happen by wiggling the wires, I am going to get the harness swapped out since there are some cracks in the FICM plugs. Thanks for the advice.

Mine would do the same thing, shut off while driving and restart. There was an issue with chaffing on the harnesses back then. I hope this works for you also. Keep us posted on your progress.

I called Bob today and he ordered a new harness for me. Great guy, very friendly and really seems like a pro. Hopefully the harness comes in this week and I will drop it off to him on Monday. I will keep everyone posted on the progress.

Bob (and his brother) did a great job with my truck. The harness was replaced and I had them flush out my coolant and replace it while they had the truck. So far this has fixed my problem and the price was very fair for the work. Now that I have found a shop that I can trust I will keep the truck. Thanks again for the recommendation!
